Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: June 2026 · Phase 1 draft

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the boundaries of permitted use for Alpine DataWorks APIs, intelligence objects, and related Services. It supplements the Terms of Service and applies to all users, integrators, and downstream agents that call the Alpine DataWorks API. Violations may result in immediate suspension of access.

2. Permitted Uses

You may use the Services to:

  • Build data-enrichment pipelines, analytical dashboards, or AI agent workflows for your own business operations.
  • Incorporate intelligence objects into commercial software products you license to end users, provided those users are notified of the data's informational nature.
  • Run automated API calls on a reasonable schedule consistent with your subscribed rate limits.
  • Cache API responses for the duration disclosed in each object's freshness_ttl field.

3. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Services to:

3a. Unlawful or harmful activity

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
  • Facilitate discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, or any other protected class.
  • Enable predatory lending, manipulative pricing, or deceptive trade practices.

3b. Misrepresentation

  • Present Alpine DataWorks outputs as professional financial, legal, medical, or investment advice.
  • Remove, obscure, or alter any data-provenance metadata, confidence levels, or freshness timestamps embedded in API responses.
  • Represent model-generated scores as independently verified facts without additional validation.

3c. Infrastructure abuse

  • Exceed your subscribed rate limits or attempt to circumvent throttling controls.
  • Probe, scan, or test the Services for vulnerabilities without prior written consent.
  • Introduce malicious code, bots, or automated scraping agents that consume capacity beyond what is needed for your stated integration.
  • Share, resell, or redistribute your API credentials.

3d. Data resale

  • Resell or sublicense raw API responses as a standalone data feed or data product.
  • Incorporate Alpine DataWorks outputs into a competing intelligence-object service without a written partnership agreement.

4. Agent and Automation Guidelines

AI agents calling the Alpine DataWorks API on behalf of end users must respect the same prohibitions listed above. You are responsible for the behavior of agents that use your credentials. If an agent causes a policy violation, remediation and any resulting suspension apply to the credential holder, not to the agent individually.

Agents should surface the confidence level and freshness timestamp from API responses when presenting outputs to end users who may rely on them for significant decisions.

5. Reporting Abuse

If you become aware of another party violating this AUP — including misuse of our data or unauthorized redistribution — please report it via our contact page. We investigate all credible reports and take appropriate action.

6. Enforcement

Alpine DataWorks reserves the right to suspend or permanently revoke API access for violations of this AUP, without prior notice where the violation poses immediate risk of harm. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you and allow cure of inadvertent or minor violations before escalating to termination.

7. Modifications

This AUP may be updated as the Services evolve. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after a revision constitutes your acceptance of the updated AUP.
